Prosecutors in the trial of Sam Bankman-Fried are comparing the defense’s argument to the classic Jim Carrey movie, “Dumb and Dumber”. According to prosecutors, Bankman-Fried is offering a defense that is “nothing short of the plot of the movie.” The prosecutors say that Bankman-Fried’s defense is so absurd and improbable that it is “akin to Lloyd and Harry’s harebrained attempts to return a briefcase full of money.” The prosecution is arguing that Bankman-Fried’s alibi is wholly implausible and should not be accepted as truth. The case is ongoing and a verdict has yet to be reached.
