Erkin Sayğılı was chosen by Turkey’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to be a member of the board of directors for the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey. Sayğılı is a well-known professor, author, and researcher in the field of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. He is also a professor at Istanbul Technical University and the Andrea Bocelli Research Center at Istanbul University.
Sayğılı is a strong advocate for the adoption of cryptocurrency and other emerging technologies as integral parts of global banking and financial services. He was also part of a panel that discussed the potential impact of cryptocurrencies on economies and financial systems around the world. In addition to his commitment to the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, Sayğılı has also been an active member of the International Monetary Fund’s Task Force on FinTech and Digital Payments.
